Russia’s Khabarovsk Region gold output rises 6% in 2018

KHABAROVSK, Jan 11 (PRIME) -- Gold production in Russia’s Khabarovsk Region increased by 6% on the year to 24.5 tonnes in 2018, the region’s government press service said in a statement on Friday.

“The Khabarovsk Region has set a new gold production record. Miners have already reported about 24.5 tonnes of the precious metal for the year. This is not the final figure but it exceeds the last year’s figure seen as the historical maximum by a whopping 1.5 tonnes,” the authority said.

Resursy Albazino, a unit of Polymetal, and Mnogovershinnoye, an affiliate of Highland Gold Mining, were the most prominent producers.

Silver production amounted to 62 tonnes under preliminary forecasts.
